Developing conversations around Creative Technology in Wales

The challenge: bloc’s old website was languishing in a non-index-able Perl based Content Management System, almost a decade old, hidden from search engines spiders and bots. But with a strong subscribed following the site had plenty of relevant content for the wider creative community to digest. Our challenge was to deliver this content with increased legibility, interaction and build a bloc following for the next decade.

What we did: Working alongside bloc’s leadership team we advised on the technical issues of web 2-3.0 identifying cost effective solutions for blogging (WordPress), social network building (BuddyPress) and mailing lists (MailChimp). Then we integrated them into a seamless platform for the bloc staff to discourse from in English…and Welsh.

The result: How about a single click to create a newsletter from content submitted by your online community. How about handling bi-lingual posts the same way. How about being the first in the world to do it (to our knowledge!). bloc now command a completely linked up, intelligent online portal that is built for flexibility and rapid response. Phew!
