The challenge: Design Wales offer design support to organisations across Wales by connecting creative’s with business. The latest offering focuses on Service Design, a relatively young design discipline, that combines business efficiency with customer experience. Principle for the programme Paul Thurston approached us with the challenge of developing something “A bit more than a website”.
What we did: Lending from Paul’s experience we quickly developed a range of concepts for how we could drive functionality that would epitomise the ethos of the program. Two core concepts emerged from the discussions- The 90- the number of companies Paul wanted to work with and Test Your Service. A concept for a web application that would measure the quality of service a company offered.
The result: 2 months of swift design and intense development saw the launch of www.testyourservice.co.uk . The core functionality of the site revolves around a web application that allows a business owner to seek advice about their service. Seamlessly linking the Service Design team with their users the system allows the program to target their service with companies who need their help whilst collecting a broad spread of data with which to report back to the EU.
